Brian Urlacher No Longer A Bear

He may be a little older and slower, but the team looses some of its identity with him gone. Who could ever fill his shoes? A major loss for Bear fans.......

That's just not right. Kinda like Ed Reed not being a Raven [crying]

Lifelong Bear fan and Urlacher was great in his prime. He has been plagued by injuries the past 3 seasons or so and not played as much as he used to. He will be missed, but he has already been missed for part of the last few seasons. Bears doing a re-tooling anyway with new coach and lots of player changes so might as well use the Urlacher money on someone that will have a future with the team.

It's the same here in Pittsburgh with James Harrison and Mike Wallace leaving.

Although Miami's gonna find out pretty quick that he may be fast but Wallace is the NFL's least physical receiver. He doesn't comeback to the ball and never fights for a throw thats not chest high. No way was he worth the money they gave him.

I've been wearing my Urlacher jersey for 10 years now. Huge fan, but he's well past his prime and all good things do have to come to an end. He didn't look very good last year anyways. At least we have Jay Cutler! [blink]

He may be past his prime, but all defenses need a leader. Ray Lewis wasn't in his prime last year, but he provided intensity for his team. I'm not comparing Urlacher to Lewis, but I don't see a problem letting him finish his career in Chicago.

What's to complain about? The Bills lost their best player last year...Brian Mooreman (our punter) to Dallas!

They claimed it was because his directional punting wasn't up to snuff (hah) and wanted to bring in someone different. Brian is a super nice guy and has a lovely wife, he was a substitute teacher at my high school back in the late 90's/early 00's. Heck of an athlete, good baseball player and hurdler.
