Rocky4
He may be a little older and slower, but the team looses some of its identity with him gone. Who could ever fill his shoes? A major loss for Bear fans.......

matonanjin
My son, that lives in Chicago, says the team is really down as a result. But Urlacher is not retiring from what I understand. Where is he going?
Californiaman
He'll go where all good NFL players end up after a stellar career... the Phoenix Cardinals.
Mark
I really don't think he could pass a physical. He should have taken the 2Mil played a year and then he could have owned this town.
Twang Gang
Lifelong Bear fan and Urlacher was great in his prime. He has been plagued by injuries the past 3 seasons or so and not played as much as he used to. He will be missed, but he has already been missed for part of the last few seasons. Bears doing a re-tooling anyway with new coach and lots of player changes so might as well use the Urlacher money on someone that will have a future with the team. tazzboy
Looks like the Bears have replace Urlacher with former Bronco D.J. Williams. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/bears-replace-urlacher-ex-bronco-192018113--nfl.html Urlacher and Lance Briggs have had the injury bug. I think the Bears are going to be looking at the Draft for their feature replacements.
cookieman15061
It's the same here in Pittsburgh with James Harrison and Mike Wallace leaving. Although Miami's gonna find out pretty quick that he may be fast but Wallace is the NFL's least physical receiver. He doesn't comeback to the ball and never fights for a throw thats not chest high. No way was he worth the money they gave him.
Murph
No surprise. He can't run. I wear his jersey, but he's done. It'll be a good year...
deeman
I've been wearing my Urlacher jersey for 10 years now. Huge fan, but he's well past his prime and all good things do have to come to an end. He didn't look very good last year anyways. At least we have Jay Cutler!

rocketman
What's to complain about? The Bills lost their best player last year...Brian Mooreman (our punter) to Dallas!
Rocky4
He may be past his prime, but all defenses need a leader. Ray Lewis wasn't in his prime last year, but he provided intensity for his team. I'm not comparing Urlacher to Lewis, but I don't see a problem letting him finish his career in Chicago. tazzboy
On average Offensive and Defensive Line Time is about 13 years depending how well they take care of themselves and avoid the injury bug.
Jeff-7
What's to complain about? The Bills lost their best player last year...Brian Mooreman (our punter) to Dallas! They claimed it was because his directional punting wasn't up to snuff (hah) and wanted to bring in someone different. Brian is a super nice guy and has a lovely wife, he was a substitute teacher at my high school back in the late 90's/early 00's. Heck of an athlete, good baseball player and hurdler.
