jdn67
So I'm considering getting this LP standard faded that is brand new, but it is so unlike any / most I have seen before and I can't decide if that's a BAD thing, or a GOOD thing. A part of me thinks it's gorgeous & different than most I've seen, but another part wonders if it's a shabby top. I'd say it's definitely unique looking. Help me out here! :) - It would be appreciated greatly! I just need to know if people think this is rubbish, or if I'm not alone in thinking that it's nice. Haha... Help! Thanks a lot! Sorry for crappy pics but it's the best I could do right now..

jdn67
Haha I know, right? I've personally never seen a tobacco faded like this one... I'm digging it but my brother doesn't agree and we usually have the same taste, so I'm looking for some second opinions before I buy it. It reminds me of the Fireburst but in a Tobacco colored fade...
ninety1vee
i just really dig unique tops i think its a winner, hell if i agreed w/ my brother all the time, i'd be playing Jacksons! (he's a drummer but really digs the rhoads model)
Homz
I also like it and can't really put into words the reason.

reverend ripper
I think it looks cool....kinda like a really broken in (in a good way) old pair of cowboy boots...if you wear stuff like that! Go for it.
kingofsiam
go for it!!! its certainly unique and will always be a talking point. I've recently acquired one, see my post on introductions for pics- under crimbo pressie - and it shows the amazing difference in what is supposed to be the same finish, albeit on a very different grain structure. Silverbursted
Pretty amazing flame, actually surprising Gibson would not have kept that piece of wood for a shiny finish. I like it though.
James Allen
I love it! This specific type of fading gives it the most unique look on any LP I've seen yet. I'm envious!
the_HEWC
absolutely, it's a really diffrent finish.. Don't think I seen anything like that before, but I like it :)

KingMetalHeart
I like it,it definitely looks to have a worn in look and the curl seems to not be as present towards the center of the guitar. I think the guitar might look even better with chrome pickup surrounds, chrome toggle ring, chrome pickguaurd, and chrome tuners!:) The installation of a pick guard optional of course but with the zebra pick ups which I love btw it might call for a solid color pickguard to offset the contrastiness. How does she play?
nikko18
i would say definately say keep it the way it is! it is really unique and it would be a shame to fade it (this coming from some one who likes faded LPs). it has very cool flaming too. especially dont fade it just cause your brother doesn't like it! if i did the things my brother thought were cool i would be saving for a darkfire right now not a les paul custom. and if you didn't like how turned out than you would blame your brother for it. it is never fun being in a fight with your brother. RichCI
When someone asks which guitar they should buy and it boils down to subjective little crap like aesthetics, I have only one response. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oof60kDFqAc

rocketman
Looks very nice. I bought my first LP (the black cherry) because it looked different. So anything out of the ordinary is great with me...

[/quote'] Forgive me if my suggestion offended you and was considered to be cheap in your opinion.....I suppose I'll play the part of Robert Duvall. BIGBENDS
Looks aside, jdn67, if she plays and sounds great without being plugged in (good resonance and sustain) as well as plugged in, and the price is right, then she might have the magic every guitarist searches for. RichCI
Forgive me if my suggestion offended you and was considered to be cheap in your opinion.....I suppose I'll play the part of Robert Duvall. I wasn't directing my response to you but my apologies if you felt that I was. My beef is with people who ask others to make up their minds for them on what boils down to, IMO, a trivial matter.
