Manfred33
Casino's come from the factory set up for 10-46. I've been using Elixir Nano's and/or Cleartones for a few years but lately have been thinking of trying some Ernie's or GHS, or just something a bit different. Not unhappy with what I'm using, just curious. Gotcha. The guy that last setup my Epi acoustic put Cleartones on that, and WOW, those are pretty awesome. I will probably just put on the Ernie Balls i have, but I don't think they 10-46 though, a bit thinner, not sure if that is a bad idea or not.... crust
Very nice. Say, how do you like that Fender Mustang amp? I like this amp very much, the modeling is very accurate in this "version 2" amp. I am still learning the foot switch combinations with the 2 and 4 button switching combinations. It also has stereo XLR outs for a mixing board,"ground lift" to quiet hum and an "FX Loop" send and return jacks. The various amp models are sweet. You'd have to pay a small fortune for all the amps and effects with this thing. Having a computer program (FUSE) that controls the amp and effects selection, and "deep editing" is also great fun, changing the amps, effects. Also, backing tracks (mp3's) and various presets can be downloaded from the Fender site. As well as an amp that has many amps residing inside of it, it is also a great practice/"play along" amp, very nice. Like having a nice Epiphone, just makes me want to play it more and more. It's also very loud with just a 12 inch speaker. I'd be blowing out the windows in this old place with the 2 and 4 speaker versions.. lol I'm using the Epiphone Mini as a preamp/attenuator, works great. Ed Zeplin
I bought a new (used) acoustic guitar this past week and realized I hadn't taken a family photo in about 5 years. So to commemorate this occasion I broke my modest collection out from the cobwebs. 2009 Gibson J45:

Ed Zeplin
My newest epiphone, a Casino in Ebony. I removed the pickguard and replaced the gold reflectors for black speed knobs. Came with hardshell case too. With black speed knobs: [/url] With black bell knobs and black switch tip: I was thinking about putting on black pickup covers. Does anyone know who sells ones that will fit? Thanks

fauxtronic
According to the serial number, my Epiphone Dot was one year old yesterday. She rolled off the production line on 12th November 2012. I bought her in January. I only began referring to it as "she" and "her" quite recently and it makes me cringe a little when I catch myself doing it. :P
gearhead
What is the black Gibson ?. Looks like it has a story or 3 to tell. Crust, I bought that archtop back in 1980 for $5.00! Someone had started cutting it up. It's the same as when I got it. It's a 1937 "Black Special". I've only ever seen a pic of ONE that was like it. I don't know how many were made, but I've got a Gibson shipment totals book on the way, so MAYBE I can find out how many they actually made........maybe.. It's like an L-50, but in black, only available by special order through a dealer, never listed in any catalogs. It's been all over with me, was even stolen about 4 years ago, and by chance, about a year later I got it back! My friend's daughter stole it and traded it for $50 worth of meth! Another friend just happened to see it at one of their friend's houses and told them it was stolen and brought it to me. Got lucky.

I too recently bought an ebony casino and put on black speed knobs! lolz. most any p90 dogear covers fit, the problem is the chrome cover is soldered on real good and mine are wax potted, i was going to remove the solder and peel em off but want to preserve them, they do sound good eh. instead of messing with them, i went with some aftermarket pickups with black covers. I took all the hardware and electronics out and replaced it all (wanted to save it all since it's in good shape, the body needed a ton of swirl removing & polishing) before & after

fauxtronic
Epi serialnumbers don't tell you the day of production what is the serial ? let me guess... 121112XXXX ? http://epiphonewiki....Number_Decoding Damn it. You're right. I remember checking right after I bought it. Roll forward almost a year, and I look at the serial number again and make a huge assumption about that second 12. I should have refreshed my memory by checking that Wiki entry again. It's actually the factory ID: DeaWon or Unsung.
