I still play 4 to 6 hours steady every single day. I adore this instrument. Love the feel and the way it's so comfortable to play I may be retired from performing for a paycheck but I still enjoy every second of playing. I'm thinking of having Forrester Kustoms replace the fingerboard with an ebony one but that means he has to re-fret it again and I should have had him do that when he installed the stainless frets. My bad :( Probably have him do that when the new frets start to wear down a bit. By the way... this guitar played through my Matchless Chieftan amp is such a killer combination. Tell us about all the Epiphone guitars you might have. Any stories ? I don't have too many stories other than a few young ladies in their 20's like my guitars, and I have given a few lessons to them...not too bad. I'm not too much of a dirty old man...just enough, I guess. I really enjoy this particular guitar.................... of course it has been completely rebuilt from the ground up This is one model that I would love to own. What did you do to this in rebuilding it? Did you change out the electronics etc? I'd love to know this because I'm hoping that one day I might be able to purchase one. Thanks. The only thing missing is my Strat. We bought the piano for my youngest son for Christmas a couple of years ago with the intention that we would all learn. He took lessons for a while and last semester he played in his grade nine music class. I tinkered for a bit but have been going at it pretty good for the last couple of months. I think yours is a newer version of ours. Looking forward to jamming with my son soon, he also plays trumpet in the junior concert band in high school. The SG EB-O was a steal. Cost me $7 and change out of pocket after cashing in a couple of gift cards. It was marked used but was brand new and still had the stickers on the pickguard and pickup. I added the trapezoid inlays. The last digit in the serial number almost looks like an afterthought and if I drop that digit the serial number finder will work though I suspect this was built in 2001 not 1991. Has the 'Gibson" truss rod cover like the Korea Epiphones and as far as I can tell is stock. Only thing I noticed when I purchased it was finish cracking around the base of the neck where it joins the body. buffalob Posted May 24, 2014 Share Posted May 24, 2014 I have not played in a formal band since my days as a front man in a punk band in the early 80's The name was Tragicomedy, and man we had fun. Also played congas and a bit of electric banjo with them. The 12 string Harmony hanging on the top left was my Dads when he played with Mom in a folk group in Austin before they divorced in 65' (I hopped on stage with a uke when I was 5 or 6 once...I'm sure I sucked). It is a cool old wall hanger but would take too much to bring her back to playing level. The 5 string banjo is an old Hohner I have had since high school (I used a violin pickup, normally glued to the bridge, glued to the head of the banjo back in the tragicomedy days. The teardrop shaped beauty is called a Banjola. It is a 5 string banjo neck on a Mandola body. Also pictured are my Epi limited edition Dot (flame maple top, great axe). A true American 12string guild ( certainly not one of thier better or top of the line models but she sings pretty nice. I have given this one to my sister but it is back on loan to work up some material for a reunion Jam coming up. My pride and joy is the Black Gibson Blueshawk my main and primary guitar these days. My main acoustic is an Epi Masterbilt Dred with maple back and sides and solid spruce top. all together a great guitar if I keep her humidified well in the dry climate in Denver. My sons Epi jumbo and Ibanez S body are both in the pictures as well. I am pretty proud of the Casino project, She still has a couple of issues... but we are real close.
