charlie brown
I like most of their versions, of the songs they covered, but "Slow Down," and "Bad Boy" have always been favorites, of mine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YV30ktRkVEM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmJeUJlzTg4 How about you all? kleinman
I like "Please Mr Postman", "Rock and Roll Music", "Roll over Beethoven"....all of which they gave that special Beatle touch. Thinking back they were fantastic musos with a gift for arrangement of songs.

L5Larry
It would have to be "Act Naturally" for me. I once heard an interview with songwriter Johnny Russell, he was asked "of all the recorded versions of your song, which ones your favorite." "Well the Beatles of course, it made me the most money!" bonzoboy
Er aah,Kaiser Bill,I believe the intent of the O.P. was to write which "cover" song by them you liked best.Like you I'd be very hard pressed to pick just one of their originals. Just about my favourite of their cover songs was Anna(Go To Him),John sings this song with more convincing love and angst in his voice than the original singer ever did.Their cover of Mr. Moonlight was much better than the original-the harmonies were incredible, right up there with "This Boy","Yes It Is","Because" and "Sun King" as was 'Til There Was You" and "A Taste of Honey or "A Waste of Money" as John would sing, being the usual cut-up on stage and off. Aster1
Most all listed already for me as there are so many excellent ones. Sorry to contridict you Cookie, but I've always just loved Mr. Moonlight. John Lennon's ability to scream/sing was perfect for me anyway. The J-160 dull guitar is something I never tire of. Even the "roller rink" organ makes me happy thinking about when I heard the song when it came out. Aster

fretplay
The Beatles were a wonderful band and their covers just masterful. They would have a go at anything from the big name rockers to the girl bands. Very difficult to choose one but for me the Shirelles 'Baby it's you' Lennon at his best.
bonzoboy
For the past 2 hours I've been listening to Breakfast With The Beatles with Chris Carter on Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius Radio and today's theme coincidently is Songs by other musicians that The Beatles covered and also songs that they wrote or gave to other musicians such as Billy J. Kramer,Gerry Marsden-both of whom are still gigging,Peter and Gordon,Cilla Black and others. When you think about it there was a large body of their songs that made or helped the careers of others. heymisterk
Twist and Shout +1 It's the only song they covered that I like better than the original version, and even then it's a close call. Fortunately, they soon discovered they could write a few songs themselves...
