Oh See What They Did With the SG Standard

Looking at the link by krock I see the neck joint concern has been discussed.

I have a 50th anniversary 24-fret SG, same thing, small guard, '57s but it has the beefier neck joint.

I love the guitar and it sound but the slim neck is rounded rather then the flatter profile find on other slim neckd SGs, not too crazy about the neck profile but it is not too bad either.

I've said it before....

It's about TIME! Been waiting for Gibson, to get back to "Real" SG's, for decades! [biggrin]

Just look at those lovely, wide, body and deep "scoup" bevels (between the horns and neck)

and...that lovely horn tapering, too. FINALLY! =D>[thumbup]

Now, if they'll just continue that trend, throughout the entire SG line, all will be good, again!

Thisssss. $600 just for the addition of a lyre though? (Talking Standard vs "Original")

Is THAT what they want, for adding a Lyre/Maestro? [scared] Good Lord! It used to be

only 10-15 percent, additional charge, regardless of what model guitar you wanted one on.

IF that's true, it's ridiculous=insane!!

wut

If they release these in pelham blue or tv yellow I'll start saving.

So these are going to be the normal standard now?

Dub, the "Jeff Tweedy" model is in Pelham Blue...it's basically the same,

except they left the back of the neck "natural."

That looks amazing except for the cream plastic (which would obviously be easy to swap)

It looks like this model is discontinued though?
