Ditto Looper

I'm intrigued by the simplicity of this little looper. (The small footprint doesn't hurt either).

Anyone tried it yet? Looks like it is only just becoming available at some retailers now, but

I thought some of you may have gotten your hands on it in advance at a show or something...

I like the small size but not the simplicity. They're marketing it as a simple pedal but that to me just means it lacks features that others have. But then again I like having features there even if Im not necessarily going to use them a lot

A quick search doesn't turn up a price anywhere yet. I've got a Jam Man and though it is complex, it's not that difficult to do the basics as they do in the demo's of this I've found. TC does make some great stuff though, and I wouldn't be against trying one of these if the price was reasonable (I don't use a looper that much anyway). It does look cool.

I had a Boss RC-2 but didn't use it much. It was not super complicated, but I still found I spent too much time turning knobs instead of playing - thus the attraction to this little one. I'm not gonna loop a whole set or anything, just use it as an occasional effect.

They are $129. Sweetwater seems to be the only one who has them yet. Sweetwater has them listed on eBay too for the same price.

Really? Wow, so much for the EU free trade crap keeping prices down. Hah!

I'd say get a DD-7 or something and use the looper on that.

You'll get the same features in the looper and some sweet delay. I just recorded this little clip with mine if you want to listen to it (the sound quality isn't great)

That thing does sounds good. Nice and dreamy.

Thanks. It has a very neutral sound, the "dreaminess" is just the sound of my SG neck pickup into my crappy little practice amp

I have to say its my favorite looper I've tried in terms of how easy it is to use and sound. It doesn't add anything extra to your sound but doesn't seem to take anything away either and has really high headroom

These are great. Check out Kasper Falkenberg demonstrating what you cab do with it. They actually work great.

Here's the link:

Wow, helluva demo.

I am having the itch of getting one of these, definitely one of those pieces of gear that would help my playing.

A little, my wife was out last night so I had my daughter.

I played with it for about 20 minutes, really easy to use with incredibly good sound, no coloration at all. That's all I can say 'cause that's all the features.

Great purchase for sure, also, I used the $10 off coupon from the GC website, that essentially took care of my local tax.

It seems, this sounds too mechanically because of reiterations that are too identical.

So I also think that as an occasional effect, nothing more.

Depends on how you use it, if you put in a loop that is short then it will make it sound repetitive.

This thing holds 5 minutes of looping so you can play 5 minutes without repeating anything and hence it will not sound mechanical or repetitive.

For example you can load the rhythim of a full song under 5 minutes and play lead or another guitar over that live.

It depends on how you use it.

Thank you for the explanation, Riffster. Perhaps, this was my first impression. Yet, better to wait for reviews, maybe, who used it for a certain time since new things usually at first make good impression.

I went to GC to try it but they were not in yet. It is small and seems straightforward and user friendly. Timing is my issue with most loopers, but we'll see. Frankly though, it seems like a device for lead guitarists who wanna lay down the rythm. I'd use it as a learning device for sure.

I bought one also, haven't done much with it yet but so far I like it and it does exactly what a looper should do as far as Im concerned. That's just let me grab some work and repeat it so I can layer on it and this one does that great for such a small box. I don't know if it will replace my Boss but it could. Strangely enough I didn't even plan on using it for guitar. My original intent was to use it to grab some basic harmonica tracks so I could lay those into the background while performing a couple song that need it.

Do you mean to tell me the device can loop anything that has a chord you can attach to it? That would be awesome.
