Masterbilt serial number

Thanks guys. GR they have no record of. LOL.

Weird - prior owner says they bought it new and never touched it in terms of setup, or saddle changes etc. Yet this has a compensated saddle - which most others I have seen or heard of do not.

Don't worry about the compensated/non-compensated saddles; I had 2 AJ500REs at one point, both natural finish, which had some differences among them, for instance different lower bout sizes, differently finished backs, but both had compensated saddles.

Hi...I too bought a Masterbilt AJ500RE NS back in Aug. 08' with a similar serial# designation!!! Mine is GR-08010521...I bought it at a Guitar Center in Albany, NY. This guitar still sounds and plays great. I find the comment that there is no record of GR designated serial #'s very disturbing....how do we trace this guitar's history???

I'm pretty sure the GR is a prefix for a Chinese factory.

I have seen it before on other Masterbilts.

So I would not fret  over it.

I bought a "refurbished" EF500RA. It had a brown sticker over the original label. I was able to peel this back, & see when it was built??!
