ksdaddy
I picked up an '86 BC Rich Strat style today for $50. The body has cracks between the pickups and it has a Kahler. The old tremolo inserts are still visible. As far as I'm concerned its worth more dead than alive so I'm parting it out. It has a Dimarzio humbucker with a plain black cover like an EMG. Any idea what model it is? The pots are also Dimarzio dated 87 so the pickup might be of that era too.
dem00n
Plain black cover like an EMG? Hmm, got any pics? Check this out. http://www.themusiczoo.com/blog/2011/bc-rich-guitars-vintage-catalog-archive/ Some early B.C. Rich superstrats are worth money... http://www.ebay.com/itm/BC-RICH-1985-RARE-ST-Strat-ST3-Gunslinger-Guitar-NT-Neck-Nagoya-Japan-B-C-Proto-/261180258730?pt=Guitar&hash=item3ccf8e79aa
krock
Yeah pics would be helpful. I know of dimarzio's that look like EMG but with rails in them. Not sure of any that look like actual EMG's. Air Nortons look like EMG's but with 6 pole pieces. Knowing if they're active or passive would also help
ksdaddy
I threw it on ebay just now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160997318152?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
krock
Interesting pickup, never seen an 80's dimarzio like it. I had a google for info on it and couldnt find any info, the pickup does look to be passive though judging by the 4 conductor wiring. Are you definite that the cover was original? dem00n
I've never seen anything like that from Dimarzio, i'm quite stumped to be honest. I dunno about you but maybe i'd hit the Dimarzio forums and see if you can get any info on it.
Buxom
I'll pay $27 if you save it for me. I like experiments and old pickups. (bought that old Invader and love it to death)

dem00n
There's a market for this stuff? Why wouldn't there be?
TommyK
Why wouldn't there be? I know folks part out cars and such, but a guitar? I'm just a bit surprised by it. But it works and if any one would be parting out guitars, it would be KSDADDY.
Greg Jacob
I would say it is a 1985 Super Distortion. It would be nice to see it out of the ring, and to see if the cover comes off. I know that 4-conductor wires were introduced in 1985-1986 (Early 3-wire SD were called Dual Sound)
