surfpup
I tried to find the DIY thread, but could not. Is it gone? Anyway, I just finished making this DAM Meathead clone. Holy mackerel. I've never heard one of these before and was wholly surprised by the gobs of fuzz it can generate. Pretty impressive for such a simple circuit. It cleans up pretty well with the guitar's volume knob too. Anyone ever used one of these? Curious if they are very common or not. I've not seen them in shops so I just don't know. And I know, it doesn't exist without sound clips, but the three-year-old is in bed so that will have to wait.
Dub-T-123
Nice job! I've made several of both versions and I love this circuit. It's essentially just a fuzz face but it's tweaked really tastefully. The dark version sounds super rocking on bass and the normal one has a really interesting almost cocked wah knotched midrange to it I've posted some clips and pics in the DIY thread (which should still be here just kinda buried)
surfpup
Thanks, Dubs. I'll check out the different versions of that circuit. Ima take this little beast to a jam tonight and rip some faces off with it.
Guest Farnsbarns
Looks cool. Where's the sound clip?
krock
I've tried both versions also. I actually preferred the one knob version that you've built, think its called the m13. I found it great for 60's and 70's rock tones. As far as I can remember the other is called m25. Ive seen a fair few clones of them around the UK. I know Ben Coles at Karma FX builds some very nice copies of them.
