Rob Zombie / ex-Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5 was recently the victim of a home burglary, which left the virtuosic shredder without a portion of his beloved guitar collection.

In response to the robbery, John 5 has posted photos of some of the stolen items on Facebook with the hope that someone out there will identify and return a few, if not all, of his most prized possessions.

Among the items stolen from John 5′s house are a number of Fender Telecasters, a black Gibson Les Paul with three gold humbucking pickups, a banjo and a piece of artwork depicting the monster from ‘The Creature From the Black Lagoon.’ John 5 also added a photo of his signature ’5′ strap to help identify an instrument that could possibly belong to the strummer.

John 5 reached out to his fans via Facebook:

Unfortunately our house was robbed today, we accidentally didn’t put the alarm on, so some assholes got lucky! We will post more pictures of more guitars, these are all the pictures we have now. I just want to put it out there, just in case anyone comes across these items.. Whoever did this will get caught hopefully one day!

John 5 is planning to post additional pictures of items stolen from his home, so keep your eyes open for further updates. John 5′s latest contribution to the world of music, Rob Zombie’s upcoming ‘Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor,’ is set for an April 23 release. Rob Zombie and his crew will also headline this year’s Mayhem Festival in the summer.

It's amazing how quick and far messages can be spread through fb sharing.

And don't these people know it. ;)

Stealing instruments is a much worser crime than stealing anything else... These criminals can't understand the emotional value an instrument can represent. Those subhumans should receive capital punishment.

"Stealing instruments is a much worser crime than stealing anything else..."

Really? Come on........................

I know man. I've probably had more guitars stolen, leant out and not returned, and simply forgotten about over other peoples houses than a lot of these people have even owned.

It's just a guitar. If it had all that emotional attachment maybe Mr. 5 shoulda remembered to turn on his alarm system. You have an alarm system so you can use it, not so you can not use it. That's what the cops would tell me I'm sure.

Not that I don't feel bad for the guy and his family and his house, and I hope they didn't hurt his pets if he has any. But dang, alarms and insurance and stuff are supposed to take care of these things, not hoping that the criminals will feel all bad and stuff after they visit facebook.

Sorry if it offends but dang again, if any among us can replace a buncha guitars pretty quickly I would think he'd be one of them.

Yes, definitely! I guess, noone of us got emotionally connected to their fridges or lawnmowers, TV sets, etc... I might be wrong, tough!

Cheers... Bence

I'm not sure about "stealing guitars is worse than stealing anything else". I had a car stolen last year and I was as attached to is as I am to my guitars, not only that but we were immobile for a very long and inconvenient time. No need to mention medication, wheel chairs, life savings, heirlooms and other inherited trinkets, most gifts from people now dead, computers holding important files. The list of things most people would hold dearer than a guitar they bought themselves is endless. Still don't want my guitar stolen of course.

If you've never had your house burglarized, you can't have a sense of how violated you can feel about a stranger rummaging through all of your stuff. The stuff is one thing, the feeling like you were raped is another.

Exactly. The last house of a person in this office broken into lost some valuable stuff and all, sure, that hurt, and if guitars sure, that would hurt too. But they broke into a house that had four pets, and they kicked all of them to death.

So while yer soakin yer cheerios with tears over poor Mr 5 and his goofy teles, try telling your kids what happened to the two cats, the dog, and the guinea pig, because MAN that is one conversation I am glad I didn't have to have.

That especially true when it comes to assets that are close to Your heart (for example ones that Farnsbarns mentioned) - not just regular household equipment.

Very true, I've been burgled twice, the second time they didn't actually get in, just broke a window and took what could be reached but the first time felt horrible.

Talking of pets, I would love to get burgled now that I have a boerbull (big dog, look it up) in the house. I'd be finding chunks of burglar for weeks! Not to mention the steaming piles of burgler I'd be picking up of the pavement for several days afterwards. May is a gentle loving dog, if a little excitable, but I wouldn't fancy your chances if you broke in.

Hehe! Same here! One outside, one - as a surprise - inside...and the garden is huge...not going to involve authorities. [cool]

Wow, just looked up the dog. Some of the pics make it look like a dog on steroids

May is on the smaller, slender end of the scale but still large. I only just noticed I'm spelling that wrong. It's boerboel. Afrikaans is a weird language.

The painting and the award have got to hurt. That sucks.

I wouldn't assume that because he is a successful, well known musician that he is "well off", or that. I don't know how well he's doing, but I think we all know or know of musicians that are "known" but don't have all that much in the way of finances. Retirement?

Who would write the policy for the Rob Zombie tour?
