aaluck
Brand new to the forum. Recently I acquired a bunch of guitar gear from an estate sale. No one showed up and I purchased ( turned out stole would be a better word) a "lot" of gear that included tons of cables, electronic parts, pups, pedals and 5 guitars. I was going to put a 498t into the 60's tribute and discovered what most of you know....there is a quick connect plug there. The plug has 5 wires. The pickup I want to install was in a plastic box labeled 498t and measures about 14.04 ohms and has only a single "hot" wire surrounded by a braided ground. You can tell it has been removed from something as there is solder on the braid and the single wire. My question is can I, or better, how would I utalize the quick connect? Can I leave a couple of inches on the quick connect and solder the braid and "hot" to the quick connect somehow? I believe I can upload some photos if that would help when I get home this evening. Thanks for any help in advance.
