I'm considering buying this guitar but the serial number can't be IDed by Guitar Dater Project and looks different than many other Epiphone Masterbilts I've seen. Hoping someone here can help ID it. Serial number on the label reads: GR-07080449 It appears to have been manufactured in August of 2007, but what does the prefix GR indicate?
Thanks

I think I may have found my answer. It seems GR may stand for Grand Reward factory. Also known as the GREE factory is located in Guang Dong province. Does this ring a bell with anyone?
