heritage cherry
I was recently walking past a guitar store & they had a single-cut faded ("TV" ?) yellow Les Paul Special in the window. It’s not a Custom Shop "1960" replica with the wrap-around tail piece, but a Gibson USA built early 2009 one with the stop-bar tail piece. Black P-90's & black pick-guard. I tried it out in the guitar store & loved the worn finish & feel of this guitar. I also loved the P90's. I've only had Gibsons with humbuckers & Fenders with single coils. The P90's are like single coils on steroids. OK, you get single coil hum, but I'm used to that with my Fenders & it doesn't bother me. I tried to do a bit of homework, but haven’t seen anything on the Gibson web-site or in guitar forums or store web-sites about these single-cut Les Paul Specials. They seem to be new. Has anyone got one of these things & what do you think about them ?
