😎You know, I have had 11 guitars all told and this is the only one that ever had any protective film on it! Is it a Gibson thing?

Well, thanks to all for your helpful suggestions. I ended up using a safety pin to get it started. Once I could grab hold of it, it came right off. I have to say that when I got the guitar you could not tell there was anything there!

I tried to find a “corner” but couldn’t. I tried to grab the bit of plastic that I could see but no joy either. I will have to set to work with other tools, I guess.

Hi, all.. need some help. I have had my 2020 ES335 Dot for a month or so now. What an exquisite instrument. Fell in love, no doubt.
One thing..... I just recently noticed an imperfection on the pick guard. When I looked closer, it looked like there was a film of some kind on the pick guard the was being torn by my pick. I tried to pick it and take it off but couldn’t do it. Before I do something drastic, I thought I would check with all of you. Picture below.

I’m curious to know why Gibson is putting Medium Jumbos on ES335’s.. If anyone knows please elaborate.....
Interesting. I think that Gibson has made subtle changes to the ES335 over the years. I guess it also depends on which model 335 it is. I am finally getting used the these frets. It took a week or so.

Hi all. Just purchased a 2020 Dot 60s Cherry 335. Overall I am really pleased. Just two things annoy me. One: the strings are awful. They don’t so much as squeak as they shriek. Easy fix. I have some Elixir Polyweb 10-46 strings as a replacement. Second: the “medium jumbo” frets require some extra technique to play well. It seems that without precise placement you will get vibration noise. I’ve had a lot of guitars but never had this problem. I suppose I can work on technique and improve my playing overall. However, I wonder if there is a fix for this that wouldn’t require a complete fret job. Any ideas?

Last year I traded seven guitars to get three Classic Gibsons. I got a 2019 Les Paul Classic, a 2020 ES335 Dot, and a Hummingbird Studio in walnut. So…. The LP and 335 are sweet. Took them to my luthier had them set up as I like them . Wow.
Had the Hummingbird set up as well. Sounds great. Plays well. Light as a feather.
BUT…… Gibson’s idea of a pickup system is so very poor. You can’t see the controls and they are minimal. Changing the battery? Ridiculous!
How could Gibson create such a poor way to change a battery? And… you have no real control over the tone and amplification.
this is my first time on this forum. I would appreciate any input.
Because of this, I am considering buying a Maton guitar and then selling my Hummingbird. I wish I didn’t have to. But I see no alternative.
