  1. Hey guys and girls- just want to get your take on the J-185......pros and cons........considering one going forward.....I do have a J-200 which is a great guitar.....but wondering if the

smaller body changes things up-...........thanks for any feedback..............

  2. It's off only by 1/8" I think.............I think the sound and feel overrides the cosmetic element...........but wanted too get some opinions......I do think any concerns would fade over time

    ( like us)....................

  3. actually use them on my 2010 Hummingbird- tames the high just a bit- but I go back and forth between D'Addario PB lights and the Retros- might try the D'Addario SX next......the

Retros do seem to take some clarity out so it depends on your playing style..........also I gig quite a bit and the retros do last.......

  4. I have three- the 1960 Historic is a wonderful, musical instrument that has it all.......the Hummingbird Original is a close second.......................the third is a standard  ( 10 years old)that I play

out with so if it gets banged up a bit I don't worry.........and still sounds fine and I use with a K&K pick up for live performance.....................if money is no issue either of the first two our great choices

  5. I can tell you that sometimes there is no substitute for surgery- which I put off for years......it's the base of the thumb joint where there was really bad arthritis and no cartilage left............and made fretting with my left hand painful. I took the plunge about a year ago and could not be more pleased- but 6 months recovery was long and not playing drove me batty..............now back and gigging with no pain...........so depending  on what you have consult with a hand surgeon if necessary.....

  6. thanks for the feedback..........I notice that the guitar in question seems to have the weight in the neck/ neck joint rather then in the body itself...............as best as I can tell.....I hace

also thought that the lighter the better but not in every case...my 1954 D-28 ( Braz) is a heavy one and sounds incredible.....
