  1. Hi guys

im still loving my sideway vibrola sg, great guitar.  The trem gives a vibe.

I’m working on a solution with some additional sponges so it’s go back to start point zero every time.
That’s the problem with this trem it’s to loose in it’s design.

Kinda lazy of Gibson really, they could have made it useful if they put in the effort.
I see some shop’s advertising Gibson redesign the trem and it works perfectly now. Big lie it’s as bad as ever. Not that I’ve tried the original one

But as long as I don’t touch it it’s fine👍
    the sg desire never die😎

Some YouTube shorts videos with the sg and attempt on singing,  just having fun🥳

    Boy, that's handsome.

How slim is the neck on that model?  My 2012 '61 Reissue feels like a Firebird neck that's had about 3mm shaved off of the back.

Not that flat feeling on this model
Very Nice neck,  if i would be very strick a Tiny bit off the shoulders  and IT would have been perfect. But AS IT is im very happy .  And the job done on the fretwork and nut is superb.

  3. Hi All

    New sg day 🙂

Haven't Bought since 2014, so when they bought back the sideway i coulden't resist it 🙂
Great Guitar. Beautiful Finnish, Great neck.  Lovely dark Rosewood.

Enjoy the pickup's. Lightweight, only 6.10 Ibs (Pick of Guitar on wight From Store)

Only Negative is the Cheap Plastic Parts, Those have i Replaced With new Pickguard,Trussrod with Les Paul, Volume and Tone controls and a Amber Switch tip

Yea And i knew all about the sideway Vibrole trouble. But leave it and it's good. Can get away with gentle use

IMHO if you really want a 70's look the pickguard should go back on 🙂

I might replace the cream i got with a black

I’ll take the 2013 SG Original all day, every day over the SG Standard 61.

Also, besides chrome hardware, and the addition of the Vibrola, they are identical to the ‘61 Reissues from 2003-2012, including, pups, large headstock and correct crown placement.

The headstock on the 61 reissue is slightly larger, at least on the '07 i sold a couple of years ago. Over the years i had a few sg's and to me i think  the Sg original has the nicest headstock 🙂

A Creamtone pickguard and a Gibson ABR-1 bridge it' s perfect . You can use those Faber adapters :

    7mm ==> 6/32''

Yes i have those faber stud om my les paul trad  2012

Yes the plastic looks a bit cheap next t a custom shop , might order these 🙂

  6. I have the Sg Original From 2013. It was a two years run. Heritage Cherry 2013 and Dark Cherry 2014

So the difference Between the models

    ABR1 Bridge - Nashville Bridge on 2013

500k Pots and orange capacitors- 300k pots on 2013

    61t and 61r Humbucker- 57 classic on 2013

Speck on new say slim taper, on the Sg Original speck say Slim 60's. But mine is more rounded. Had the old 61 reissue, that was slim taper. Maybe the new one are like that?

Contours and bevels Looks identical, except the headstock on the 2013  a bigger mustache. The new more vintage Correct. But the 2013 looks cool

Mine is 1 piece body, think the new ones are that also

    A pick of mine

Even the Bevel Police would approve of that one, sellen! Utterly GORGEOUS!

Is that one a Re-Issue, though? It looks too good to be otherwise.

  9. I do so love those Custom SG's, in particular the red finish and gold hardware look stunning! [thumbup]

Here's one I used to have year's ago, bought it new, called "The SG". Cheap axe, but not as bad as one might think. I've not seen too many since -

cool axe's man [thumbup] . that carved top , do it sound simmilar to Les paul?

  10. fairly common problem here........

did you replace the factory strings, and did you change string guage?

anyhow...... start w/good strings of factory (.010) size, make sure they're not binding in the nut, if they are then use an old string as a file to "rout out" the notch until it glides through easily. lube the slots with pencil graphite afterwards.

make sure the screws and barrel nut on the tuners themselves are tight.

these are the most common causes.

and give 'em (strings) a good stretch

  11. Recently got myself a Marshall JMP 2204 head 1982 model, i gave 1000 euro for it. Kinda felt it was made for sg, drive it with 2*12 cabinet. But you gotta play loud before the good stuff happen. For home use a guy at the local guitar shop praised the new 1 watt blackstar valve combo.BTW great looking sg you got
