  1. besides the thin neck, the cherry one i got is absolutely wonderful.. at first i hated the neck because I'm a fat neck snob, but now that im used to it, i like it a lot... the guitar just rings like a bell with an "old woody tone" that no other epiphone but the 61 casino reissue has(which i also have). the the reissue epi's are some of the best since the 60's

i'll also add that the fit and finish on my sherry is better than the goldtop gibson usa deluxe i just got....

  2. AMS are now selling returned guitars at $200 off, might be worth calling to see what the "minor cosmetic imperfections" actually are. If someone got one with gold peeling off the pickup like mine (which Gibson replaced) might be a real bargain there. Weird they have returned guitars in all the colors, might be a sign of a large production problem.

  3. Here's one on Ebay that has a similar crack to the first one I received:

It worries me that so many are showing up with the same issue in the same spot. They can't all be shipping damage.

i just got one from ams and if they all have necks as thin as mine its no wonder they crack/snap. its like a damn ibanez wizard neck, not what i was expecting. anyone have a nice cherry one with a thick neck that wants a thin neck one? trade straight?
