My 1997 Chet CEC has always acted as a radio receiver when held in certain positions. I live close to some transmission towers, and this problem has plagued some other musical instruments in the house as well. I recently stumbled upon a fix. A small copper wire attached to the low E string just behind the saddle completely eliminated the problem. I've never before been able to enjoy the instrument without the distraction of the radio noise. Now, it's dead quiet and sounds wonderful. Attached photo shows the modification.
