i have six serial number but the gibson site say this
1961-1969 Firebird, Les Paul, and SG reissues (since 1997):
YYRRRM
Y is the production year
RRR® indicates the guitar's place in production for that year.
M is the model being reissued
Reissue model codes:
1= SG Custom and Special
2= SG Standard
3= 1963 Firebird 1
4= 1964 Firebird III
5= 1965 Firebird V & VII
8= 1968 Les Paul Custom
Examples: 050102 is the 10th SG Standard reissue produced in 2005.
With this example my sg is 2003... but it is real strange

sure but the serial is 03... 03 is 2003 ? 13 is 2013 .. or not ??
i think that it is 2013 but i want to be sure of the year ;)

HI ! my name is nicola and yesterday i bought my first SG VOS Custom shop classic white.
I have a question for the serial and the years, i bought it used and the serial is 03@@@2. The last 2 is ok for "SG standard vos" but the first two numer is for the years..
The seller says that this sg is 2013, but in your guide-site say that the 03 is 2003..
How is possible know the real years of my sg vos ? in the COA there are only the model and the inspection..

io ne ho provati diversi sulla les paul traditional e mi hanno fatto semplicemente schifo.. un suono acido e tagliato bruttissimo...
mi sembra strano che sia lo stesso..
comunque la mia risposta l'ho avuta ;) grazie comunque !

no aspetta .. il 57 classic + è un altro pickup .. totalmente diverso dal 57 classic...
è un 57 classic ma molto più spinto... molto diverso dal classico

alla fine credo che mettero' un 57 sulla sg nera e via...
sinceramente non mi va di venderla.. ha dei segnetti dietro e dovrei svenderla ... alla fine conviene portarla con me fino alla sua completa distruzione ;)
un 57 classic vedendo su internet esce singolo... cioè non c'è la versione ponte o manico ? cioè ne compro uno e basta ? di solito specificano

Io il Pearly Gates al ponte l'adoro, però al manico non l'ho mai provato, perché il buon Fabio Sigismondi (aka "Pearlygates") mi ha sempre detto che in quella posizione non lo ritiene adatto perché troppo aggressivo (come timbro, non come uscirà che è di 8k circa)...
a me il 57 al manico mi ha molto deluso... lo troppo troppo troppo pastoso... non riesco mai a farci dei bei soli decenti.. volume basso e impasta troppo...
il 57 ponte lo adoro .... ma non so quanto sia diverso da un pg... il 498t bello ma ormai lo sento acido...
Diciamo che la soluzione potrebbe essere

oppure boh sono indeciso...

Texas Special spaccano, niente da aggiungere.
c'è stato un periodo in cui mi ero disintossicato di gibson, presi una strato e ancora non avevo la seconda standard con i 57... la strato è durata un mese....rivenduta subito per la standard con i 57. se avessi comprato subito la tele... forse non avrei preso la seconda standard...
ora forse stavo pensando di vendere quella nera... boh...
sembrano giocattolini fender... ma i texas special escono quasi a 10k...quindi hanno una potenza simile agli humbucker... ma quel suono nasale a dir poco ottimo...
i 498 ormai li suono pochissimo... da quando ho preso i 57 ormai non li calcolo proprio... cioè su suoni plexi sono molto taglienti e mi danno fastidio...
boh non so che fare... una coppia di pg costa 250 €

Ciao Nick, belle manze, specie quella più legnosa
la negretta è con me dal 2006 mentre la l'abbronzata è entrata a gennaio.. sg del 2015 con 57 classic.... pickup che una volta provati, non è facile adattargli altri suoni...
stavo infatti pensando di sostituire i 490/498 con una coppia di pearly gates o simili... senno finisce che la nera la do via e mi dispiacerebbe... anche perchè ho anche una tele con i texas special...

for me the serial is
03@@@2
03 years and last 2 is standard SG like this gibson legend:
1= SG Custom and Special
2= SG Standard
3= 1963 Firebird 1
4= 1964 Firebird III
5= 1965 Firebird V & VII
8= 1968 Les Paul Custom
this sg like mine is ugual and the serial is 03 like me
but there are burstbucker 1/2 and new knobs..
bah....
now i send an email in gibson for this serial
