After doing some research I did nail down the date to it being a 1927.

Hello, I found this forum because I received an old Gibson tenor TG-0 guitar from my mother. It was played by my great grandfather. It is in pretty good condition. I found this site when I was try to find out how to look for the serial number so I could date the guitar. Alas, the serial number is too faded to see.
I look forward to researching the guitar to find out more about it.
Thanks,

I have one of these also. It has been handed down in my family since my great grandfather who bought it new. I am very torn about whether to keep it or sell it. My memory is foggy but I believe there is a number stamped inside at the bottom of the guitar. You have to look into the sound hole toward the bottom and there is something stamped in red. Use a flashlight. For some reason I also thought that the number of frets might identify it as a 1927. I will do some research and try to post that later.
