stratman
Hi, I'd like to hear opinions from any new 339/336 owners about their instruments I bought a figured top 339 at the start of the year and I'm very happy with it sound, wise playability, and certainly appeareance wise, the only thing that I dislike a little about it is,the frets I don't know why Gibson didn't put jumbo frets in them, you can feel the height of the smaller frets as you move up and down the fingerboard and I think jumbo frets would have been a lot smoother, more like the feel of a Les Paul or SG,anybody think the same? tomasmaclennan
I own a 339 Standard and I have no real opinion on the matter of jumbo frets, but I thought you would like a reply! Aren't they great instruments?
modern image
i do not own one. own a johnny a. similar construction. (body cut from one piece of wood). i can comment on the general, unamplified sound. quite nice. woody, resonant. the frets on it, & the 356 were a little smallish for me on the higher register. excellent insturment however.
