Les Paul Signature guitar Pot problem

I have an LP Signature.All it has is the orig low imp pk-ups.I found a low imp transformer and it makes the pk-ups work 100% -excellent-//but whatever pots I use,the volumes will only work from off to 8 and then on to 10.It just makes no sense at all.I even tired another transformer and 250 & 500 K pots and they did the same thing.HELP PLEASE.if I didn't make myself clear.I have ONLY the orig pk-ups.I found a transformer and 4 250k pots.The pk-ups now sound 100% strong and are now ONLY high impedence.Now,the big problem is that the pots do NOTHING.And yes,I have tried other pots and another transformer and it did the same thing
