cycles610
Hi, Does anybody know what the best replacement tuners would be for a J100 (without leaving exposed mounting holes) or what size they need to be? Any recommendations on type/brand? Thanks for your help
ryanfender
Does it have the Gibson "Deluxe" Klusons or Grovers. I just changed out my Gibson Klusons for Gotoh vintage style tuners. Fits perfectly, no drilling and everything matches up. However, you will need to get conversion bushings to switch to the vintage style posts of the Gotohs. However, the washers on the top of the peghead will have to go. They won't fit using the new bushings. Thus, you may see some finish imperfections under the old washers. I had to have my peghead touched up a bit with new lacquer. Started out like this. Resulting in this. After some work, got this. Note the lack of the original washers Here is the Stewmac link to the tuners and conversions bushing http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tuners/Guitar,_solid_peghead_tuners/Gotoh_Tuners/Gotoh_Vintage_Keystone-style_Tuners.html http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tuners/Tuner_parts/Tuner_Bushings/3_8_Conversion_Tuner_Bushing.html
cycles610
Thanks for the help, that's exactly what I needed to know. I've got Klusons as well, so it looks like I'll be headed down the same path. Thanks again
