Gibson J100 XTRA Tuners

Hi,

 

Does anybody know what the best replacement tuners would be for a J100 (without leaving exposed mounting holes) or what size they need to be? Any recommendations on type/brand?

Does it have the Gibson "Deluxe" Klusons or Grovers. I just changed out my Gibson Klusons for Gotoh vintage style tuners. Fits perfectly, no drilling and everything matches up. However, you will need to get conversion bushings to switch to the vintage style posts of the Gotohs. However, the washers on the top of the peghead will have to go. They won't fit using the new bushings. Thus, you may see some finish imperfections under the old washers. I had to have my peghead touched up a bit with new lacquer.

I've got Klusons as well, so it looks like I'll be headed down the same path.
