I think that serial number guitde in bluebook is not correct.

Abt My 1981 es335td with 3 pieces flame maple neck. The last 3digit is 523 that mean Nashville made it.

But the plate in F-hole is kalamazoo made.

And every line that fancier like this should be kalamazoo made.

Just curious and wanna know where is it really made from?

Anyone here Know?

I'm not sure about the Gibson move to Nashville, but...

When Epiphone was moved to Matsumoku factory in Japan, evidence suggests they moved the blue "Union Made" (Kalamazoo made) labels along with all the other parts. Some "Union Made" labels were installed on early, Japan made models. They were supposed to Line out the words "Union Made", then rubber stamp "Made In Japan" in the lower right corner. Some got missed. Some I've seen, even though they were propery edited, have ink that has faded and the "Union Made" shows through.

It is possible early Nashville production of Gibson's used "Made In Kalamazoo" labels.

Also, when they updated the Epiphone label which was printed "Made In Japan" "Kalamazoo, Michigan" was also on the logo just like before. But, it does not say "Made In Kalamazoo". It's just the name of a city on a piece of paper.

I would believe the serial numbers.
