jjonesab Posted December 14, 2010 Share Posted December 14, 2010 I have installed my last set of "GCAS Electric -Acoustic Guitar Strings Deluxe Monel Wound" Strings on my Epiphone SST Studio....These Strings were designed and manufactured for this guitar and the Gibson "Daddy" SST by and for Chet Atkins, I have searched and tried several strings and can't get the sound I get with these strings...can't find them anymore..help! milod Posted December 14, 2010 Share Posted December 14, 2010 I had a similar difficulty with Guild strings when the real company went away. I really liked the 8-38 strings and had several batches of 'em. Then when they went away... frankly I gave up trying to find an identical match. The last set were so "bent" where they met the frets it was a sad joke on me. So... Mostly now just Ernie Balls on that particular guitar.
