Fast Tack
Just bought a new (mfg 2008) 58 (Model LPR-8) VOS and, simply put, am enthralled with the immediate sense of tactile resonance and sustain (among other things). While there are MANY clearly positive characteristics; a few questions on other perhaps less positive ones for the world of LP experts out there: Are there any inherently typical qualities or idiosyncrasies? For example: (1) Mine produces a low but persistent "hum" when the strings/fretboard are unstruck, open/untouched regardless of: amp used; effect(s) use or order (including none); or ground/circuit condition. (2) G (3rd), particularly, & D (4th) strings seem resistant to maintaining tune. Thanks in advance for your knowledge!!!

Thanks in advance for your knowledge!!! you seem to be saying the hum stops when you touch the strings but you've checked the ground. Seems strange, double check the ground! loosen/remove the strings, scrible in the nut slots with a soft pencil and put a tiny drop of 3in1 oil on the saddles.
