Historics and Honduran Mahogany - ADMIN HELP?

This has probably been asked before. I did a search and could not find the answer I was looking for, so here goes.

I recently bought a 2010 R9. Does Gibson still use Honduran Mahogany in their Historic series. In 2007 Gibson claimed to use Real Honduran Mahogany, do they still use it?

[cool] your avator pic is so disgusting but your concern is so discussion.

i previously noted that gibson has been using the real honduran mahogany

but the better research tells now that its actually since 2006, not 2007.

the wood supply situation has been more difficult in the world lately so

we never know how long more the genuine woods last at gibson.

in 2011, madagascar rosewood is in danger so possibly soon, no more at gibson?

anyways, keep researching.....j

So are you saying I should be good then. Honduran back and Madagascar rosewood board. This guitar is a 2010, does that sound correct?

i personally believe your 2010 R9 has all the genuine woods.

-the madagascar rosewood for the fretboard.

-the eastern hard maple for the maple top.

-the handuran mahogany for the body back.

those 2009, 2010, 2011 model have the superb specs

especially so basically the best of the historics.

try find yours while they are still easily available!

joe.

No doubt... That is why I bought it. The guitar just felt, sounded and looked right to me. 2009, 2010 and 2011 are the best they have made. Do you work for Gibson????
