electricfurnace
Hello! Recently picked up a very roadworn and battered Gibson SG Standard for a cheap price. Pots read CBA 811 1158 500K AT 13770 (then solder obscures the rest). Serial is 909451 My research seems to indicate it is a 1970 - pots point this, as to the closed b and o on the headstock. However it is missing the "Made in USA" stamp on the back of the headstock which would otherwise indicate a 1970 would it not? Here are some pics - please help me date it! Thanks Alex

retrorod
Yep, pretty worn! I would guess '69-'70ish transitional model. The double-ring Klusons and the Pantograph pearl headstock inlay lends creedance to this also. Looks like "almost a volute", also! Great-looking axe Looking mostly original and "cheap is good"......
