Still Learning

Hi All, I'm considering purchasing what appears to be a legit 2005 custom shop, CS 356 Q. The question is that it only has a six digit serial number "500819". Every web page I've been to says all Gibson Serial numbers of this vintage are either eight digits or nine. What's up with that? The second part of my question is what does the Q signify?
