Unacceptable!!! If It was me I would send it back and find one in a local shop that you can inspect and play before you lay down that kind of cash. Thats one of the reasons I don’t buy online

Tried my best to talk the wife out of a 40 grand addition to the house, to no avail. There goes the LP standard goldtop I had my eye on.

So I buy a "MINT" 2015 ES- Les Paul Memphis from Reverb last week and it arrives from seller safe and sound BUT 1)the hardware is corroded, 2) there is rough glue/ bubbles at the neck joint, 3) there is a 5 inch X1 inch sleeve rash between the upper F hole and bottom strap buttom, 4) the GIBSON headstock Logo is a vinyl decal instead of inlay, 5) t here is a 1 inch - 1/32 inch mark - looks like a dark grey magic marker wavy mark between the pickups that is protected by a beautiful "factory" lacquer.
So, my first take is that I have been mislead by seller. The pictures do not describe or indicate these flaws. I contacted the seller and he tells me that this is VOS treatment and makes this guitar very special. If it is so special should you not show it in your pictures? You should advertise "Just look at the beautiful corroded bridge and stop bar on this $3000 guitar- and it washes off if you apply some elbow grease.
Well......... I still have the guitar because he won't take back. I inadvertently cleaned and waxed with Dunlop 65 to see if there was any hope of keeping the guitar before I contacted him. The "VOS" finish on the hardware has been erased for the most part. The rash on the top is also almost gone with the application of my efforts and tears. I am taking the guitar in to a luthier to fix the lacquer bubbles at the neck joint at the cost to the seller- $110 he agreed to pay. I will have to live with the very obvious mark between the pick-ups. I will be forever &^%$ pissed off >?":< with GIBSON ( I also have a LP Classic and G45) for putting a ?plastic? surface mounted logo decal on the headstock- c'mon Gibson even my Epiphones have MOP inlays. Who buys a Gibson guitar with the expectation of seeing a removable decal on the headstock every time it is played- Gibson may want to rethink this way of saving money in the manufacture of there "quality/\' guitars.
I just don't understand why Gibson would VOS or decal anything. I also "do not get" the authentic road worn Icon copies of guitars. These fake aging treatments/ styles we see appear to be just another symptom of our culture going MAD. You have to pay extra for this mess and ..... I can feel the passion rising for a new song emerging.
Thank you , I feel much better now.
I would have charged back my credit card

I was born in Passaic General. All my players are wooded cabinets and not the super cool looking one's with the big horn.
Small world for sure. Those cabinets are getting hard to find in descent condition

I have a 1915 Edison Diamond Disc Phonograph, 1925 RCA Victrola and a mid to late 1920's Brunswick wind up phonograph. All work and I have record for all. The Edison I only have one record. It won't play anything but the diamond disc records made for it. All made in the great state of NJ. State of my birth.
Sweet. Always wanted an old Edison, ever since we went on a class trip to the Edison museum in e. orange. I was born there too. St. Marys in passaic. Lived in Lodi, Hackensack and Rochelle Park. Got out after a stint in the army
