  1. I am trying to authenticate my Les Paul Standard (Cherry Sunburst) which was made for what Ive guessed in '72 but my POTS are reading only 6 digits 137738 and I was told the 6 digit codes only include the last number of the year. Does anyone have any experience with this? The guitar serial number only tells me from '67 to '72. Were they even making Les Pauls in '67? Thanks in advance? Greg
  2. My name is Greg writing from Austin, Texas. I've been playing guitar since I was a child. Similar to golf, Im good enough to have fun but not ready to entertain. I own the following Gibsons; 1972 Black Gibson Les Paul Custom (a real beauty & fretless wonder) 1980 Tobacco Burst Gibson Les Paul Standard (I mean sweet!) 2001 Gold Top Gibson Les Paul Classic (beautiful) 2016 Gibson ES355 VOS White with Bigsby (amazing) (Looking for the Alex Lifeson signature ES355) Anyway's looking forward to this group and learning from everyone. Happy Thanksgiving from Texas. Greg (GDOG)
  3. Hi have a Gibson Memphis ES355 VOS 2016 with a Bigsby vibrato system. I want to look at replacing it with the Gibson Maestro Vibrola system and possibly the bridge as well. Dose anyone know if this can be done cosmetically correct with out showing or leaving exposed holes drilled of the Bigsby. In other words, will the Gibson Meastro cosmetically cover everything from the previous system? THx Greg
