Hey all, I'm in the market to buy my first Les Paul, though all the different models can be a little overwhelming. I'm curious about the evolution of the Les Paul Standard, and differences in specs as varied by year. Realistically on modern (post 1990) models would be relevant to me as anything "vintage" is going to be out of my budge. There are a couple other models like the Traditional and the Classic that seem to be overlap to some degree Thanks

Seller did offer to ship if I pay via paypal. Seemed like a scam to me. oh well! But yeah, not into spending $3,000 on anything right now.

update: turns out it's nowhere near me. If anyone else wants to go for it be my guest (it's in Rochester NY, but listed on NYC craiglist)

Thanks all! Yeah it's listed at a '68 (and the serial number seems to line up for that). Pickguard thing is a mystery for sure, but not a biggie for me. Thanks for all the input. I'm okay with the skinny nut - it would just be a nice little couch guitar I think. I've messaged the seller, so I'll be sure to post/update if it comes to fruition 🙂
