  1. Went to GC yesterday & played my J45 thru a few acoustic amp & really liked the new Fishman Loudbox Artist amp so decided to buy it. 120w, 2 channels, DSP effects chorus, delay etc, 8" woofer & 1" tweeter. Weighs in at about 25 lbs. Played with it some last night & sounded really nice with the J45 & my Larrivee L-03R. Like to thank everyone for their help & suggestions. Very much appreciated guys.
  2. Thanks much guys for your suggestions..looks like a have a few to play thru at GC..Thanks again..
  3. Looking for a nice acoustic amp for my new J45. Was thinking maybe an AC-60 or a Fishman but don't have any experience with acoustic amps. Should I be looking for one with effects or not? Help me out here guys..
  4. I love my J45 & really don't trust the gov't anyway so there it is...
  5. Thanks much guys thats what I was looking for.
  6. Anyone ever wire in one of these. Looking for a diagram or drawing to show me how its done & which pot to replace with my new Standard.
  7. No Brian the screwheads are facing the pickups but thanks.
  8. I've got a Casino Elitist that had the bridge taken off the guitar by my grandson. Now I'm not a guitar tech so I don't think I got it back on just right because the guitar sounds horrible. The Tune o Matic doesn't have screws on the ends on top for adjustment it has thumbwheels underneath for adjusting. Would one of you guys be so kind as to walk me thru adjusting this damn thing & how to set intonation (whatever is meant by that) on it. Not technical please I enjoy playing the guitar but haven't a clue on how to set them up. Thanks in advance. BTW it has new strings on it already so I know it isn't that.
  9. I have a John Lennon Revolution Elitist Casino. Its a full hollow body so its pretty light. About the same weight as my Gibson LP Standard. Exceptional quality. Fit & finish are second to none. P-90's sound great.
  10. My chambered 2008 Standard Plus sounds just fine to my ears.
  11. Yeah I'm completely happy with the way it sounds & plays. Nice low action setup on it.
  12. Okay for those of you who wanted pics of my new guitar here they are. Not sure if they are any better than the Sweetwater pics but at least I took them.
  13. Tony is my long lost uncle! I'll post pics of the guitar as soon as I drag out the camera I haven't used in ages.
  14. Thanks for the info guys. I bought a Standard Plus.
  15. Thanks for all the great responses guys.
  16. I'm not him[biggrin] guys stop worrying.
  17. Needed a Les Paul to compliment my John Lennon Casino with P90 single coils & after looking for a few months I found her. Les Paul Standard Plus in Desertburst. Love the feel & sound of this guitar. Its my first Gibson & right about now I think I'm full of myself!

    Standards

Whats the biggest differences between the new Standard & Standard Plus.
  19. Been playing for about 30 yrs now since I've been about 15 yrs old.
  20. Thanks guys for your advice. Seems like the Historics have a lot of love here. I'll definitely check some of your isuggestions out. I have one more question. Is there a big difference between the 50's & 60's style neck. I have short fingers so I'm more inclined to go with a thinner neck for playability & comfort. Whats your ideas on this.
  21. Went to GC yesterday & played every Les Paul I could find. They all sounded & felt great & a few really talked to me. I played a: Les Paul Studio Les Paul Traditional & Plus Les Paul Standard & Plus Can't make up my mind between the bunch. The guitar in my avatar isn't mine but a color I love. I guess I'm asking which one would you consider the best value for the money in the long run. Budget isn't a problem but I don't want to go over about $3500 just for practicality. Thanks in advance guys.
  22. Anybody interested in the 59' Les Paul or the Tribute guitars getting ready to come out. They look like they have some pretty good stuff on them. $799 for the Tribute & $899 for the 59'.
  23. What does everyone think of the specs of the new 59' & Tribute guitars coming out. I know they aren't out yet so no reviews just wondering what you think of the specs on these guitars.
