  1. Thank You all for the suggestions, I have installed Martin 12-54 MA540T and they sound great !
  2. Daddario is very close to my office. I have Daddario on my classic guitar. Excellent strings, but I didn't particularly liked the ones on my Double Bass, but that's a totally different business than guitars. So many factors in the mix and the costs another big factor. There is a used string market , so at list you can do some testing and get back part of the money. It took me several years to finally find the mix of strings that I think sound better on my bass for the orchestral repertoire, and some alternatives for solo tuning.
  3. There are a few Symphony orchestra in Long Island and a Choir , covid-19 has stopped the activities for a while but now we are back, second concert of the year in May , Tchaikovsky piano concerto n.1 , and other things. As for the strings I'll start from Martin, and we'll see.
  4. I play in a local Symphony Orchestra in Long Island , NY
  5. Thank you for your reply. I also play double bass in a symphony orchestra and db strings are really expensive (300-600$ ) thus the time consuming of replacing or testing strings is quite overtaken by the economic part... with the guitar it is basically only the nuisance of replacing them, the cost being almost neglibible. I nailed down my preferences for my electric (ES 335) to the Tomastik Infeld bebop strings, by I am a bit in the dark with my CW Sheryl Crow, so some basic guidance would be beneficial. I don't want to kill the beautiful sound and playability of the guitar with some bad strings. Regards,
  6. Any suggestion for new strings on my C&W. ? It came with the original string (I guess from Gibson) and now it's time to replace them. I am looking into Martin, Daddario and also Gibson, but there are so many. I play finger style , not. much strumming, some jazz and also believe it or not, some gipsy jazz on this guitar, that is wonderful. Any advise would be great. Thanks
