  1. The problem, I’m having isn’t the bushing fitting into the guitar itself, it’s the size of the tuning peg shaft. I actually spoke with some from Stewmac earlier today and they said that it’s okay if there’s a tiny bit of play in space between the machine head peg and the bushing, so I’m going to just try and install them and see how they end up. Hopefully I’d own ruin the headstock on a $3k guitar. Lol
  2. Just purchase my first Gibson after years of wanting one, I was finally in a position to buy one and man, what a guitar. I got the J-45 standard. Just phenomenal. Anyway, I’m a singer songwriter, producer from South Carolina. Don’t do a lot of live shows, but I make music daily. It’s the only thing that keeps me going. I hope everyone is doin alright out there. Peace and love.
  3. First of all, I hope everyone is have a great week. Yea am having some problems finding a part. I recently purchased a conversion bushing from Stewmac on Amazon and the fit isn’t quite right. I need to get a professional recommendation on which conversion bushing I need. I own the Graph Tech PRN-4424-NO Ratio 3+3 Waffle-back Vintage Machine Heads. I am trying to instal them on a brand new Gibson J-45 standard. I first bough 10mm bushings, which were slightly large for the factory bore in the headstock, however they were a perfect fit for the peg itself. I then purchased a 3/8” conversion bushing of the same spec for the peg, but there is some play in the space around the peg. I never attempted to put the 3/8” bushing in the guitar, as it didn’t fit the peg, so it may be the wrong size too. I definitely should have at least checked that, but I didn’t. I could really use a pro recommendation as to what part I need. I attached an image of the tuning machines that I have, along with the specs for it. The last picture is the description for the 10mm bushing (this one fits the peg perfectly, but is too large for the bore) The third picture is of the 3/8” bushing that has some play around the peg. I hope that helps us figure this out. I really appreciate any recommendations. I’m trying to avoid drilling out the bore on this guitar if I can help it.
