  1. What do you think the chances are of seeing any Epiphone ES 345 or ES 355 reissues over the next 12 months? Any thoughts even on another run of the Anniv. Sheratons with the mini hums and frequensator? Please Epiphone; make it happen!
  2. Mine has been on back order for over a month now in Guitar Guitar U.K. - some talk they won't be shipped until 2023...
  3. Noel and his brother Liam as 'Oasis' sold over 70 million records worldwide. Countless number ones, record breaking attendance records - a literal once in a generation band and talent. Noel's upbringing and story is truly one of the most inspirational of any musician you are likely to come across. Utterly remarkable. The guy dragged himself and his little brother out of the gutter of violence and despair in Manchester against all odds to the top of the charts and did it with his dignity intact. Most bands and musicians would kill for even a portion of the success Oasis had. Yes they were a divisive group and they are not to everyone's taste. You have every right to think McCartney, Dylan or Paul Simon's work from 1993 to date is better than Noel Gallagher's but I don't. In the grand scheme of things, and quite frankly by any measurable objective metric, plainly it was not a bad idea at all for the brothers to be in that band together. Together at their best they met every goal a popular band could conceivably set and then some. I would agree that how it ended was sad and maybe Ray and Dave could've gave them some tips to avoid that. There is still time and maybe the brothers can become friendly again somewhere down the road, who knows...
  4. Congratulations man, cherish it! Jaw dropping! The cherry ES355 may just be the most perfect looking guitar ever built! What an instrument - hope it brings you many years of enjoyment buddy!
  5. Delighted for you buddy, please if you can upload some pics or even a demo!
  6. I am a fan. You don't have to like it, or even agree but there is a pretty bullet-proof argument to be made that Noel Gallagher is the greatest songwriter of the last 30 or so years, and quite easily. Cobain comes in at second. The songwriting is what matters, not some pentatonic wankery. "I consider Noel Gallagher to be the finest songwriter of his generation." - Those are the words of Sir George Martin, remember that guy? Produced Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band amongst some other albums and tracks for that little Beatles band? You know that record? With 'A Day In The Life' and a few other tunes? Lennon at his absolute peak, McCartney too. All overseen by George Martin. Given George worked in such close proximity to the two GOAT songwriters for a period of 9 years or so - at their absolute zenith - i'd say he knows a thing or two about melody and songwriting talent. Maybe more so than most in that regard. In Sir George's assessment Noel is right up there and anyone with a functioning set of ears and an honest heart would, i would say, be inclined to agree. Hack guitarists out there are a dime a dozen, Noel's songwriting and melodicism is a one in a million talent. More like one in a billion. I'd love to hear some critics efforts at songwriting and singing. Point me to some songs i'll listen with an open heart. If anyone can do better than 'Champagne Supernova' or 'Wonderwall' then have at it and rake in the millions. Something tells me they don't, not because they won't but because they can't. Noely G. has done alright following his own intuition as opposed to listening to the laughable 'guidance' of a few internet trolls. Can't wait to pick up one of these Rivieras! Long overdue!
  7. Really appreciate that info Aldo - IMO would've been nice to see rosewood or ebony on the Riviera but Indian Laurel will have to do. Just happy they are doing it really. I can't wait to see some of the first images of this Riviera - interested to see what they do with that. And please Epiphone do a re-issue of Noel's Knebworth Sheraton - if we are talking iconic that is right up there - bloody thing would be a licence to print money. I love the Union Jack Sheraton and Maine Road performance as much as any Oasis fanatic but as an Irishman - toting a massive Union Jack ES style guitar around these parts can be quite dangerous...
  8. Can I ask when you pre-ordered it? I don't understand how the U.K. retailers do this. I thought we just go on the website in August and try to get the guitar. Apparently there is a backdoor pre-order unannounced anywhere, so when the guitar is unveiled in August there will be none available for anybody as all of the limited orders have been pre-ordered from back in May 2022 without even so much as an advert in May on these retailers websites about how to do this. Load of nonsense. As I say, looking forward to the mass produced Riviera if these rumours are accurate. Epiphone better not mess that release up with this pau ferro baloney either. Either go big on it or go home Epiphone.
  9. Some real shady dealings going on with that. Think Rishi Sunak and the rest of the lads all got in on those 10. Guitar isn't even to be released until end of August, no mention anywhere on these retailers websites of a pre-order or pre-sales. Nada. I contact Andertons ask about the guitar a month ago - response is, 'oh the one we are getting in is already pre-ordered, we can put you on the wait list which is pretty long though!' Yippee! Same with Guitar Guitar, GAK etc. **** show of a release. Bring on the mass wine red Epi Riviera and keep it moving N.G. Also preferably a reissue of the sunburst Sheraton from Knebworth somewhere down the line.
  10. Sounds awesome because the limited quantity and price of the sig. ES355 is outrageous - anymore details on the Riviera? I'll definitely be seeking one of these. Fingers crossed they do a version of the Sheraton played at Knebworth at some stage with the full fingerboard fret markers and frequensator!
