right now I own an Epiphone Les Paul Slash Vermillion Burst Guitar and I am very happy with it. I have always struggled to play with Strats and it looks like short scale is my jam as I am much more comfortable playing the Les Paul. I have always been drawn to their sound, looks like I am also into the usability.
Anyway,I like to play Metal and want to get into things like Amon Amarth and Powerwolf, so I need a guitar with heavy gauge strings. According to the Thomann sales rep, the Slash LP can handle .12 at most before I need to customize the fret bridge and intonate the guitar. But I do want to be able to play antyhing at any time, so I guess I need a second guitar.
So here is my question: are there any Epiphone short scale guitars for people like me that come with .13 out of the box? FYI, I am in Europe (DE), so not everything US may be available here.
