Can anyone advise what year of manufacture the 7008 serial number relates to?

Yes-everything except tuners is original.

My parents bought me a new Gibson SG Jr in white for Xmas 1967. I sold it about 1971 to a man who stripped it and repainted it in his body shop. A friend bought it from him and gave it back to me in the 1980s. I replaced tuners about 1970 and it has been repaired at the headstock. The serial number was not visible so I just stripped the paint and found 7008. One site says this is 1961 model. The pickup guard is the 1961-1966 style. Can anyone assist with the date and serial number? I have pics but site won't allow size.
