  1. I have a 2014 Gibson Les Studio Deluxe. I called Gibson and I have emailed them asking to purchase a replacement push-push pot with the clean boost. Mine has been used sparingly, I am the original owner, BUT the push-push pot has failed. A luthier's wiring tech looked at it and said "No, this is designed to be unrepairable." I asked why and he said that there is a hot glued resistor and that tbhe actual boost unit is attached to the push-push in such a way that if he were to attempt to desolder it, it would destroy the boost unit. I bought one on Ebay and it is for a LP Trad Pro, but it is just a toggle switch, the LP Studio has the ability to control tone and boost as well. Gibson has blown me off just calling the Customer Service line. I have emailed providing my Serial, I have a copy of my COA, a receipt from Guitar Center in Chattanooga TN. I also have had several people write up the problem as I've taken it to an electronics tech and and several luthiers who have people who specialize in active electronics. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do or if I'm just screwed ? I don't want to hear about "Buy a stompbox" or "Buy an EQ Box" - I play with as few pedals as possible. It is my personal preference and I like it that way. Thanks.
  2. I have a Studio Deluxe I bought new from Guitar Center. I saw it and had to have it as my first Les Pauls were wine red studios. This one is wine red but with a much more lovely flame top. I love the clean boost on the studio deluxe and I went to use it during a song, reached down, pushed the push-push tone pot back in and I went on playing, but I noticed the boost was still on. I was practicing and I found that the boost pot which is on a tone unit and is push push was stuck out and will not go back in. Will Gibson sell me a new PCB assembly or a new boost module ? I have a Tone Monster boost in an SG of mine and it's great for that guitar, but it isn't appropriate for this guitar. Who do I need to contact to get this fixed ?
  3. I own around 30 guitars, mostly Gibson, a pair of USA G&L's and a pair of MM Fender Strats and a trio of MM Telecasters. Gibson SG's are my favorite followed by Les Pauls. I live in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. I love competition shooting and accurizing rifles. I also restore 60's and 70's cars. My amps are Reeves, Mahaffay, Hi-Tone, Ceriatone, two Weber MM builds, and a few Orange Heads and three Matamps. I have an analog mixing and recording console I bought from a radio station and I have been getting it setup, only to be moving into a new building. Happy about the new building, but I was looking forward to using my console. Thanks for having me.
