  1. Hi Slimt, thanks for the reply. It would be cool if it's a L-50 because it was sold to me as a 1950 L-48. Come to think of it, maybe the seller was dyslexic and he turned the numbers around in his ad. So it is a 1948 L-50 and not a 1950 L-48. Lol.
  2. Hi all. I have been playing guitar for a long time, with mainly an interest in Fenders for a long time, but lately Gibson is entering my playing field. I acquired a lovely Les Paul Goldtop with P90s and have recently stumbled across this L-48 or L-50. The jury is out on that one. And I could sure use some help with the identification. There are some pictures below. The FON is 1980 14, which would make it out as a 1948 model, although the previous owner told me it was a 1950 model, which I doubt. She has trapezoid inlays, very rare on L-48s and common on L-50s. No idea whether it is a laminated or pressed or sculpted top. I will leave it in your capable hands....
