  1. Thank you for your reply. Here are some other photos. I have not yet had the time to remove the truss rod. If there are uncertainty after these photos I will remove it. https://ibb.co/tLrV2hy https://ibb.co/jb5JBMx https://ibb.co/jTHkHGk https://ibb.co/s25QQKR i think it is from early 00s but I am not sure. I found this on the Gibson webpage: Les Paul Classic 1989-2014: This model features an ink stamped serial number with no "MADE IN USA" (just as we used on the original 1952-1960 Les Pauls). Most will be 5 to 6 digits in length, but the earliest examples feature 4 digit serial numbers. There should be a space after the 1st digit with the 4 and 5 digit serial numbers, and no space with the 6 digit numbers. The 1st and 2nd indicate the year of manufacture for the 6 digit serial numbers which we've been using since 2000. It should therefore be from 2005.
  2. Hi, I have been considering selling my Gibson Les Paul Classic. I submitted my photos to a guitar shop nearby and the owner stated that the serial number looks homemade and could be due to customization and therefor offered a very low sum. I bought my guitar more than 15 years ago at an established store. Unfortunately I cannot recall the information I might have received at that time. The guitar was nevertheless straight from production without a single scratch. Now I wonder if I could be fooled and would much appreciate any help in identifying which kind of Les Paul I got. All I know is that it is a Les Paul Classic, 1960 is inscribed on the board below the strings.
