Ok so as I understand it. Its from water vapor under the finish or oils penetrating uncured nitro on top of the finish. I can clean it with various products that may help or not. I should play it and except that its the way of the nitro. Relicing is good. Try to keep it pristine or maybe not. Cheetos can cause orange stains. No dremel tools should be used and wear a sleeve. I think the haze just moved inside my head. .

Guitar is new and hazing started day one . I used Dunlop cleaner and polish with marginal results . its like it'll be almost gone after clean but then return when I play . No real big deal but I dont really care for relicing on a brand new guitar . I know thats been debated . Are yall saying its haze under the nitro ? if so I dont see how cleaning helps at all.

I know this has been talked about but I recently purchased a J-45 and I'm getting this haze. I'm not understanding what this is and what's causing it. I mean other than wearing a sleeve what can I do ? Seems like cleaning and polishing has some marginal results but it never really goes away.

I go through this too. Playing at a shop is always hard for me. Once I get home, I may find I don't like the sound at all or get lucky and find its better than expected. Guitars are weird. Not really, I think we are weird. To be honest we get too critical. For me anyway, I can say I'm not the player most guitars I currently own or ever owned deserve.

I switched back to the factory tusq just for the heck of it today after playing the bone and the String-joy strings quiet a lot. I still say the Tusq has a smidge more bass but their so close sonically (maybe the bone in the mids is the winner here) that it's really a toss-up. I can't say I like one over the other. While I had the saddle out I checked the factory LLbaggs UTS thickness. I came up with . 032 which is about 1/32 On a side note I'm happy with the stringjoy strings. they play great and are very stable.

Good I was afraid you were going to say 2 dollar bill .. those are thick.. but if its that thin removing it wont lower the strings much if any .. looking at the LL Baggs support it looks like it may be .030-.032 If thats true then the action would lower like a 64 th wouldn't you say?

Dang it I knew someone would cause me to go lookin at pickups. I think I really like the Baggs HiFi . Not that I see anything wrong with the Schaffer. I do like the installation process of the Baggs. Questions. Does the factory stick-on volume control and battery bag come off easily? Just pry off and clean up any access tape with alcohol ? How thick is the UTS pick up ribbon? Think that little bit removed would lower my saddle too much? I have no issues installing a new one if so. Just wondering. Doesn't seem like it would drop action much. Im not going to do this right away but I can see getting rid of the UTS pickup in my future.

Silversurfer I appreciate your input. I've done that on other guitars and I agree it does make a diff. The only thing holding me back is I need to plug in, so unless I go to something like a K&K I want to stay with it. The bone one I put in has a slightly tighter fit than the factory Tusq did, but it does sound very good, plugged in. Maybe I hit that happy medium, good fit but not too restrictive.

DJ86 I had this thought too. Who Knows.. I happy with it . So I'll keep it. Still undecided on the bone saddle. Not that it sounds bad but the tusq had boom on the bass. I ordered a new Tusq one so when I do change it I'll start with no grooves.

Ok after using them a little but I do have a question. To me I'm experiencing just a smidge less comfort than I did with the factory strings. like maybe I'm having to press down harder. Its not terrible and I can manage but it does get thinking . What makes one string type/brand (same gauge) easier on the fingers? maybe I should start another topic on that? Or leave it here?

Mosty playing at home unplugged but when I play at our church I have a Drz Maz18 reverb. I know its not the ideal acoustic amp but its what I have and with some tweaking it does alright.

Anyone tried these? I just put on a set of their Natural Balanced Lights. Im not going to say this is the most amazing set of strings I ever put on but they feel good and have a very nice woody tone and don't sound overly bright. Because I've been using coated strings for a while these are little squeaky to me. Its manageable though. May try their Foxwoods next. I do have a new set of Daddario XS to try also but thats another thing. Anyway, not really giving a review yet but I was wondering what you guys who have tried them think.

You must've been around some of those magic mushrooms. I may have had a little experience with those sounds too.🤪 Prairedog i think you and Salfromchatham are talking about two different things. Those pinks your hearing when tunning. could be from the strings being tight in the nut or even seating in the pins.

Ok so as I said I'm a hopeless tinkerer. Both my wife and I woke up with scratchy throats, so we have not left the house. been sitting around playing almost all day. I began to think about what was said about letting it settle and making sure the Colosi saddle fit correctly. And don't give up on it yet . I did some checking on the saddle and found that it was just a smidge out of square on the bottom. My bad. Not much but enough that it needed tweaked. I have some very precise machinist blocks to check with and after being sure the bottom is square, flat and straight I re-installed it. I still think it took a small about of boom out of the base but gave it a tighter sound. It's still rich and has a very nice overall balance. maybe even gave the trebles a little more definition too. I'll leave it in, I think. I have to say as far as esthetics go, the saddle and pins really look nice. These are double inlay bone pins. The factory one look pretty plain. Oh and Im letting it settle bahahahahah
