  1. Hey everyone, to the forum and pretty new at at guitar . So, I Was at my local guitar shop and i noticed a pile of amps . A fender blues caught my eye so i inquired the owner said the fender is a repair but i have this marshall that was part of a bundle from 7 yrs ago I'll take 25 dollars drom the first to offer. So it powered on and i handed him 25 bucks. Its a marshall 2510 from around 84 to 87. Powered it on. Dirty dirty pots. But it sounded amazing. Cleaned up the pots and what not most of the scratching and cuts outs and unwanted noise. So here's the thing ...i can't figure out how to engage the boost other than a footswitch? Also rocker switch is stiff and doesn't and the red bulb must be blown. its has a gm1270 celestion speaker. I saw on guitar a center a fair version of this amp going for 399.00. So I'd like to replace the pots and switches. Also when i turned it off it made this loud electric squel and thump. I had an old gfa555 ss amp for my home audio awhile back also a great f'n amp but it would do the same thing.I never get used to it the sound though. And I'm a little nervous to turn the marshall on again. I just purchased the epi 59 ri in lemon burst and my epiphone custom sounds so good. I've avoided the marshall as i feel its kinda cliche, and i love my orange. But even in its solid state form, it's just a nice sounding amp . Does anyone have any experience with minor electrical repairs for these guys. I can post some pics. But other than 1 or two pots, the rest of the electronics look fantastic. Nothing leaking or discolored. Thanks ahead of time for any responses.
