WOW, way too many models for a similar guitar!!
I'm going to throw a big monkey wrench into the equation.... the guitar is from the early 90's with the open book head stock and supposedly the seller is the original owner (said she purchased in 1991) and never learned to play. She stated that the guitar has been sitting in closet all these years.
I might have to check it out....

I was just assuming the "S" stood for solid top and the "L" for lefty, so I'm really going to stay away.

Thank you very much for the info. Though the guitar looks to be in good shape, I haven't seen it yet ( and probably won't now), and with the dry air out here in the desert, 10-15 years of sitting around could have done the guitar absolutely no good at all.

There is an EPI PR350SL from the early 90's for sale locally and the seller has "make an offer" in the ad. The guitar looks nice in the photos and comes with an el cheapo cardboard case.
Does anyone have a ballpark figure I can use?
I saw a PR350 that sold on the Elderly site for $125, but it was a righty and I think it needed a bit of work.
The seller is thinking $350 and I'm thinking $150 so we aren't even in the same ballpark..
Help me.

Your guitar is a Samick (Korea) built guitar. Built in June of '92. The T (Tele) and S (Strat) 300 series guitars were made to compete with Fender in the '90's. I owned an S-310 that I know regret selling. They are great guitars, especially when you consider the price.

This Guitar it's one of first Epiphone ELITE made in Japan.
No it's not.
The pre Elite/Elitist MIJ LP's headstock are identical to the Gibson headstock:
The headstock Ross_Curtis is showing in his photos is an MIK headstock.
although it is upside down!!!

That body is gorgeous. Kinda like a lava lamp finish. Very cool.
Your guitar is an early version of the MIK Les Paul before they switched over to the headstock we see today. As for dating the guitar, w/o a serial number it will be difficult. I think, not 100% positive though, that the serial numbers were on stickers applied to the back of the headstock. Obviously it is long gone. Most likely early '90's though.

The one I was looking at has exceeded a reasonable price - there are some very curious things happening with the bidding. That zero bidder seems really keen.....
As soon as I see a zero bidder being that agressive on a high ticket item, I walk away. The seller has set a reserve but doesn't want to pay ebay the required fee. You'll never get the item at a decent price from that seller.

As I read the rsponses, I didn't see anyone correct the serial number.
It is "I96xxxx" which would make it a June 1999 from Saein, Korea.
If someone already stated this, sorry I need glasses.
As for the price, here in the Valley of the Sun, they sell from about $250 to $350 depending on condition.

If I remember correctly, they were manufactured there in the '90's. They weren't a special run but I do recall people stating that they were (are) fine instruments.

Epiphone didn't start manufacturing the LP until 1988 in the Samick factory according to the book "Epiphone The Complete History" so it is not an '86 model.
Also according to the book, the "Orville" line was started in '91 and produced in Japan. I think that these were the Epi's that had the Gibby headstock and this continued on to the MIJ LP's.
The early Korean models had the tape serial number on them w/o the plant letter. I'm also pretty sure that the numbers were random so finding an exact build year would be difficult. You might say that this one is a late '80's or early '90's LP unless of course it is stamped "used" or "2nd" on the headstock.
This would open up a whole new can of worms.

I have my lefty Firebird VII for sale at the moment on Ebay if any left handers are interested. I love the guitar, but for me it is just way to uncomfortable to play.
It is a great guitar that has turned into a great piece of art work, so I'm hoping someone will buy it and utilize it to its fullest potential.
