  1. I was wondering the same thing.
  2. Maybe they got rid of the Elitist models to make way for this crap. Look at the prizes in their contest this month Marcus Henderson, "Apparition" signature guitar and Prophecy Les Paul EX and custom Monster Energy LP Personally I don't care for the direction they are taking, but that's just me.
  3. Welcome. I'm not an LP fan so the only recommendations I have are as follows ranging in price of low to high(er). Dot (ES335 style that I feel is one of the more versatile guitars) Wildkat (sized between a LP and a Dot - semi hollow body) Alleykat (unavailable, but try the used market) Sheraton (bit of a blinged Dot) Casino Casino Elitist
  4. BSA is right - the old forum is gone. Plus, no need to take jabs at the other forum (also can be said in reverse), two forums are better than one.
  5. I would first try some contact cleaner (Radio Shack) and see if that takes care of the problem. Epi pots are not known for being the best (and by no means the worse), but an investment in contact cleaner won't hurt and you can always use it down the road.
  6. I'll let the experts here give you the needed information, my job is just to pester people for pics - my work here is done. BTW, nice guitar.
  7. post some good pics and welcome to the forum.
  8. I had one, gave it away to some kid that wanted a Strat, but had no money. I had a Deluxe that I liked, but only kept it for a week, but not enough to keep. I haven't been thrilled with any of the upper end Squiers and lower end Fenders. I think having a American Deluxe sets the bar high, so they just don't appeal to me. Sort of like my Dot, I love the guitar, but if I had a Gibson ES335, I probably would find the faults in it. Still, it's a guitar I like and since it was free, any upgrades really don't take me over cost.
  9. See what some others have to say, AS90 might have some additional thought on it. I was thinking of some very fine steel wool and then buffing it, just to blend it, but again I am not the one to follow for that kind of advice.
  10. I can barely see one line and certainly can't make it out as a finish crack or neck crack. The tension of the strings would be holding it in place (or based in the location it appears that way). You could take it into a shop and have them check it. If it was mine (meaning this is not a strong recommendation), I would losen the strings and gently pull back on the headstock to see if it appears to widen (key word - gently). There are others here that are far more expereinced than me that might have a little more professional advice. If it breaks, my name is Fubar and I can be located in Canada.
  11. May be a case of the horses already out of the barn (I hope not), but http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Hardware,_parts/Electric_guitar:_Strap_buttons/1/Schaller_Strap_Security_Locks.html did you try checking it with a strong magnifying glass? It might give you a better indication of what they are.
  12. The ones here that own them (me being one) love the guitars. I picked up mine more by accident (followed me home), but it is definitely a purchase I do not regret. I don't have any technical feedback, just that I love the sound and feel of the guitar. Mine is in the avatar.
  13. My comment was in response to AS90 Personally I name mine "the black one", that covers three of them. The other one is the red one. Or I will call them by their birth names Strat Dot Wildkat Idol
