It does seem a bit darker than the average but I think the light has something to do with it as well. When I bought it, the dude's house had very bright lights and it didn't seem as dark but it really seems to change based on the room you are in.
  2. Grand Slam in golf or tennis. 4 completely different tournaments that require different specialized skills. That's why the "Tiger Slam" was one of sports greatest achievements, likely never to be duplicated.
  3. It just doesn't matter how much it costs, only your tone matters! Nice pics btw TeleChamp.
  4. I always have the wah pedal first in the chain, and as I have seen, most people have it first. What, in your opinion does it add later in the chain?
  5. I've never heard of BBQ pickups...I thought maybe you were talking about ribs, in which case I would have highly recommended the ribs ;)

Maybe, they are true to the reviews you can find online. I was not a complaint by me, it was just an observation.
  7. I have EMGs in a Strat and I love them, that being said I am no real fan of the HB sized ones. They just don't suit my tone/music. But to each their own. If someone likes them, that's up to them.
  8. Clapton Page Hendrix Santana Carlos Santana I may have added last just because he seems like a cool cat to hang with.
  9. That is one sweet guitar!

So far I really like them. They are crystal clear when you back off a bit but can also produce a nice vintage drive sound if you push them. They are also very responsive to pick attack. The one thing I would caution is that they have a significant treble-y voice, particularly in the bridge position. It is just different than what you get out of most modern pickups which have a heavier sound.

I have been reading posts here for a bit but this is my first post. Actually the NGD was a couple day ago but I had to clear her up a bit and put some new EB Slinkies on her. It's a 2006 and in really good shape, a couple of pretty tiny dents but I could not be happier with it. I have wanted a SG for a while and when this one came up used I jumped on it. It even came loaded with Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAF's. I had an Epiphone a long time a go, and it was ok, but now I know the big deal about a Gibson. It complements my 2 Strats nicely.
  12. I have a chance to pick up an older epiphone strat style guitar and it was my intention to use this as a project guitar. I am just wondering if anyone can tell me if these types of guitars were of a descent quality?
