  1. Hey dude, fret not. I myself purchased a MIK Sheraton a few months back, and her serial number consists of numbers only. They did away with the whole alphabetical-factory-coding system, due to reasons richochet mentioned (I guess). So worry not (: ! As long as she plays like a baby, that's all that matters !
  2. Who got me started : a girl. Yeap, a girl. Well, we were going out and all, and she loved the song "Slide" by the Goo Goo Dolls. So yeah, the usual "boy wants to impress girl" thing, so I kinda force-learnt that song in a month. Prior to that, I had never touched a guitar or guitar string in my 18 years of life. Also, there happened to be an acoustic lying somewhere in the house (brother bought it but didn't use it), so I conveniently made it mine heh heh =D So yeah, learnt that song, managed to even strum and sing decently. All for her. That all happened 7 months ago. She kinda wa
  3. alright, thanks for the suggestions guys. i'll drop matthewk a pm and ask for advice about how he did it, and maybe i'll save up for a chrome tunomatic bridge (should anything happen if i screw up any part of it T.T). Btw, i read in some threads that replacement bridges are hard to find. is that really so ?
  4. hey dude. coming from where i am (that's singapore), guitar stuff are pretty much expensive here, like gotohs etc. and resputable brands are hard to come by (unless you order online, and with all that shopping costs.. T.T) unless u go for those proline parts (which seem abit shady), and even they cost a substantial amount. plus, i'm schooling so it makes it tougher. gahhh. i'll probably strip down (or try to) what i can, and the harder stuff maybe i'll save up for chrome ones.
  5. Hey guys. I own a Sheraton II, and it's roughly 2 months old... AND THE HARDWARE IS TARNISHING ALREADY T.T Thinking of stripping it down to for a chrome look, but I have no idea how to go around with it. Also, will it screw up the bridge intonation (make it faulty or sthg) ? Not much money for new hardware as I still needa upgrade to a better amp, so yeah, gotta strip it down.
  6. woo nice work on the sherry there. well, mine's a sunburst one with the brighter yellow/orange colour, not the walnut brown sunburst, so i'm thinking of leaving the faux gold hardware on (matches better with the bright burst). knowing it'll wear off, i'm thinking of leaving it with a weared off gold look. will see how it looks like. hope it goes well, tsk. and if it fails.... oven cleaner time =D
  7. aight Just Strum, I feel you. but sometimes, there are those pesky big scratches on the front which arise due to carelessness. and this being my first electric, it's kinda heartbreaking to see one on the front. gahhh. ): so i guess a good wax will be able to fill up the void left by the scratch ? or is it really necessary to get a remover ?
  8. Topic. Alright, I'm planning to get a carnauba wax for my Sherry(unsure of what brand, i'll just pop into the automobile shop and ask for a recommendation), and plan to do some basic maintenance shopping (cloths, new strings etc). Was wondering if the wax will do the job in removing surface scratches, or must I get an additional scratch remover-kinda solution to do the job ?
  9. +1 to davidg3333. when you've considered what you don't really want, you'll know what you really want. so just go with what you'd want. lol.
  10. aight, thanks for the info guys. will probably give it a test (2 months out of the case, and 2 months in it) to see how things go. yes, i have that much time lol.
  11. Well, i'm posting this on behalf of my friend who owns a John Lennon EJ-160E. What do you guys recommend for polishing it ? Will carnauba wax work ? (I know these stuff work on electrics, but I'm unsure whether it'll change the sound of an acoustic.) Thanks !
  12. BENT E wrote that (thanks for the info dude), and i'd like to know if any of you guys have encountered the same problem, with the hardcase screwing up your finishes ?
  13. Hey, just a simple question.. will carnauba wax work for keeping the shine on my hardware ? if that's not the case, what do i have to do to preserve it ?
