  1. I'll be optimistic about Rick saying that it'll be less than 6 months more of a wait. Rick also said that he can't wait to see the final product. In case you're wondering, I sent MZ the color sample below. It's more of a solid, firey grape than a straight-up purple.
  2. @Sgt. Pepper @PrairieDog @NighthawkChris @'Scales @Larsongs I apologize if I seem ignorant on these matters. This is my very first M2M order through a dealer. I thought an invoice and a receipt are the same thing. And I didn't know that an invoice # is similar to an order #. Rick at MZ quoted me $6099 for the entire build via email. And in a separate email, he confirmed that the CS had received my order. Neither the quote nor the confirmation were given to me in an official document from the MZ store. My invoice had only "LP Custom Order Deposit" in the itemized section, which only tells me that MZ had received my $1200 deposit. Again, the reason I got worried is that there was no documented confirmation of the CS's receipt of my order and no physical bill with the quote. I only got Rick's emails and an invoice stating that I had paid MZ a 20% deposit. Once more, sorry guys.
  3. OP here guys. I just need to clarify a few things. I visit the Music Zoo's website quite often, and Rick has his own professional profile there. During Q1 of last year, Rick and I were playing phone/email tag in regards to specs and payment. In February 2023, Rick emailed me with a quote of $6099 for the total build. He then asked me for my billing address. In early March, he sent me an invoice that had the MZ letterhead, an invoice number, an invoice date, a "Bill To (my address)", and a QR code (to Scan Pay Go). The invoice also contained an "Items & Description" column that contained the phrase "Les Paul Custom Build Deposit" with an SO number. Once my payment cleared in a few days, Rick told me that their rep at the CS wanted me to confirm the hardware color. The day after that, Rick emailed me and said that he had just confirmed with their rep at the CS that my M2M order has been officially submitted. That following summer, I asked Rick for an update and he informed me that their rep at the CS gave him an expected delivery date of early May 2024. I then left the matter alone for the following year.
  4. OP here guys. I just got off the phone with Rick at MZ. He confirmed that the CS doesn't usually provide updates to them regarding the progress of builds. He assured me that as for as the CS goes, my order is in "Pending" status. He said this does NOT mean that the CS hasn't started the build. He said it just means that the order is pending fulfillment. Lastly, he projected that my order should arrive at the dealership in less than 6 months or so. Idk but this doesn't sound like a scam to me.
  5. I'm gonna call MZ tomorrow to find out if Rick got any updates. Hopefully, he has some idea on how the build is coming along. I have a receipt of the deposit ($1290). But they never gave me an order number. I don't think MZ even quoted me on the total price of the build. All Rick told me is that a metallic purple finish is doable by the CS.
  6. That LP in that Reverb listing was built in 2022. My M2M is in a metallic purple. Not a sparkly one. And my M2M was a maple top. Not a flame top. Exactly last year, Rick at MZ told me that the lead time estimate for my M2M order is May 2024, which of course has passed. I reached out to Rick earlier this month, and he told me that he's trying to get word from the CS. I'm gonna follow up with Rick again at the end of the month, but I don't want to annoy him. Gibson owners at Reddit told me that the CS never gives updates on builds until the orders are ready to be shipped to the dealers.🤔 So I guess I'll wait and give it another 5-12 months?
  7. OP guys. Thank you for all your advice. So I should NOT start looking at Reverb for what I'm looking for? Someone at Reddit just showed me a Reverb listing for a LP Custom with a purple sparkle finish.🤭 But I should just have more patience and let the Music Zoo do their thing?
  8. The sales rep at MZ (Rick) promised me he would try to start hounding the people over at the CS. Hopefully, that means something.🤔 My M2M order has the same specs as those on a LP Custom Black Beauty. And I already paid a deposit of $1200. Gibson owners over at Reddit told me to be more patient. Some have waited up to 2 years for their M2M order to arrive. This is my first time going going through a dealer for a M2M, so I hope this isn't a scam.
  9. The Music Zoo, a dealership near me, submitted my M2M order to the Gibson Custom Shop well over a year ago. My M2M order is for a LP Custom in a metallic purple finish. Last week, I asked for an update from the Music Zoo's sales rep. The sales rep says he hasn't heard anything from their contacts over at the CS. What should I do now?
  10. I gave my M2M order to The Music Zoo on Long Island early last month. They then sent my specs over to the Gibson CS. I followed up with The Music Zoo earlier this month. They told me that they haven't heard back from the CS yet. My M2M order is merely a LP Custom Axcess with a metallic purple finish. And, after over a month, the CS has yet to reply back to my dealer. What gives?
  11. The Music Zoo on Long Island is still closed to the public due to COVID, if you could believe that. And I live in NJ. I called someone at the MZ, and they told me that I could email them my M2M custom order. But I don't really know if emailing my credit card info is all that safe. Yeah, the sales associate at the Gibson Garage never returned my emails and voicemails. I can call the MZ again. But, like I said, I don't really know if email is the best and only way to put in a M2M order.
  12. Hey everyone. I'm completely new to the Gibson Custom Shop. I'm interested in placing my very first M2M custom order via the Custom Shop service. So I was hoping if I could get some advice from any experts here who've had experience with the CS. I've been in contact with two dealers: The Music Zoo on Long Island, and the Gibson Garage in Nashville. I called someone over at The Music Zoo, but they aren't allowing any visitors inside the store. I visited the Gibson Garage over the Memorial Day weekend, and one of the sales associates there give me his business card. How do I go about submitting my custom order? The Gibson Garage has yet to respond to my emails. Can you guys tell me what I need to do in order to send in my M2M custom order to the CS?

  14. I meant being mainstream, like Coldplay at least. The last time I checked she was touring with Alice Cooper and Richie Sambora.
  15. Are you guys surprised that this Orianthi didn't became popular at all? I mean, she's a super-talented guitarist.
