I like the tone produced by the standard's regular sitka top.

D'A pb lights..

Is the top bracing in this guitar the same as a regular J-45 or is it the wider angle AJ style?

+1 on Holter. I have several of his guards, they look perfect, very vintage.

I had a whole collection of them about 20 years ago. Decided to not be a part of the death of tortoises so sold the lot.
Today I use real celluloid picks (heavy) and they work just fine for me.

Don't care for the shape.

I have his guards on several of my guitars. Just beautiful.

I wouldn't go there.

Hog by a hair.

I recently bought a new J-45 from my local GC. Perfect in every way.
Sorry you're having issues.

Well done! Now I'm kinda sad.
-
OK by me. Tell us whatcha got.
-
Me too! There, that's three. How about it, Gibson?
-
Thanks! Will have to check that one out.

I'm 77. I've owned literally 100s of guitars since the early '60s. Have a dozen now.
Just not hungry these days.

Love to hear this one. My all hog WL-12mh is a terrific sounding L-00 (shape) guitar. I'll bet this Gibson sounds just as good, if not better.
-
OMG! How sad.
-
Grab it and run!
-
That sounded very good indeed.

I love the J-45/50. Played that model for years, still have a 45.

Always thought he possessed the best voice in folk music.

Thanks, Boyd. Just what I wanted to know. Much obliged. Ce.

Right. I'm taking off the Grovers and replacing them with Klusons, old style, white buttons. I've seen Klusons at Stu-Mac and other places, so I know they're around.
I guess what I was asking was if anyone knew of any Klusons that were a better fit than others, since the J-45 head is drilled out for the slightly larger Grover tuner shaft.

Anyone have a line on replacing Grovers with vintage looking Klusons. Any particular brand an easy drop in replacement?
Thanks, Ce.
Forearm haze question.
